10 most beautiful trek in the himalayas

Here are top 10 most beautiful trek in the Himalayas. Himalayas are the most sought after adventure destination, along with the adventure they are the warehouse of beauty.

The stunning Khatling Glacier Trek is where rivers Bhilangana, Sahasratal and Masartal originate from, situated in the tranquil region of Garhwal, Uttarakhand. The entire trek traverses through lush green thickets, sprawling meadows and offers panoramic sights of snow-capped mountains and hanging glaciers thus lending an awe-inspiring ambience.

The Pin Parvati Pass is amongst the most seasoned treks in the Himalayasadorned with the natural splendour of the green Parvati Valley and beautiful landscapes of Kullu and Spiti Valley. The Pin Parvati Pass covers high peaks of Tunda Bhuj, Pin Parvati and Mantalai as well as the cosy hamlets of Barsheni, Kalga and Mud.

The Chadar Trek is the ultimate trekking experience in the Himalayas trailing through the white mountains of Kargil, Jammu and Kashmir. The trek requires crossing over the frozen river of Zanskar that flows through the gorgeous ravines and canyons of Ladakh. It is unique due to the experience of walking on the ice sheet and camping in freezing temperatures inside caves.

Declared a national Park in 1982, this beautiful valley is the ecstasy of nature lovers and as suggested by the name, is exceptionally affluent in its extensive variety of flowers.  A great feature of this trek is the stop at snowy Auli and an encounter with a rich diversity of animals, birds and butterflies found on the way.

The allure of this trek to the frozen Roopkund Lake or ‘Skeletal Lake’ in the Garhwal Himalayas is the presence of hundreds of human skeletons immersed in the lake. The trek takes one through deep forests, cascading brooks and folklores. Moreover, one comes across vast stretches of green pastures or ‘Bugyals’ as well as stunning views of snow-capped peaks along the way.

Goecha La is a high mountain pass in Sikkim towards the southeast face of Kanchenjunga. This trek is embraced with high soaring peaks, stunning rivers, picturesque ‘Bugyals’, a wide range of flora and fauna, dense forests and ends in rocky terrain. The trek is highlighted by the presence of Rhododendrons of various colors during the month of May.

An easy but exciting trek in Ladakh, the Markha Valley trek takes you through varied landscapes offering fascinating views of the Karakoram Range, Kang Yatse, Nun Kun and Stok Kangri. In this trek, one experiences breath-taking sights of misty hills and alpine grasslands and comes across quaint villages, monasteries, some exotic wildlife species in the amazing scenery of Ladakh.

The trek to Kuari Pass in Garhwal Himalayas offers one with several views of majestic peaks from its crest that stands tall at 4264m. Not just that, the Curzon trail, as the trek is famously known, passes by the confluence of several rivulets, gorgeous Oak and Deodar forests, sprawling meadows or ‘Bugyals’ and the magnificent Auli.

A quintessential trek for first-timers, this trek to Hampta Pass is appealing mostly due to the fact that it connects the beautiful valleys of Kullu and Lahaul. Flourished with thick alpine forests, sprawling meadows, glacial valleys, this trek packs the punch of an idyllic adventure in the Himalayas, not to mention the abundance of rare Himalayan birds and orchids spotted here.

Dayara Bugyal is considered the most breathtaking ‘highland meadow’ in India nestled amidst towering snow-peaked mountains. This trek trails through gorgeous Oak forests, clear water bodies and sprawling grasslands while offering views of specks of huts, grazing sheep all while overlooking the valley and high-rise mountains. How to find the best trekking shoes for your next trek

Things to look at in good Trekking Shoes

The word Trek originated in South Africa, where the word was used by the Boers for a journey by ox wagon. The British, who seized control of South Africa from the Boers at the turn of the 20th century, seized the word trek. The Dictionary meaning of word is to make a slow or arduous journey or to journey on foot, especially to hike through mountainous areas.

So now you have an idea that during any trek you will be walking through loose rocks, uneven trails, woods, jungle, water, snow etc. The best trekking shoes are the ones which while providing comfort protect your feet from the elements and have good grip on all terrains.

Pindari Glacier Trek

Pindari Glacier trek is an easy trek in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. This trek offers well-defined trails with only one minor pass crossing en route to the Pindari Glacier. The views from the pass– the Dhakri Khal (2830m) – are particularly impressive and include the many snow-capped peaks that form the southern rim of the Nanda Devi Sanctuary. Pindari Glacier Trek

Kangchenjunga – the third highest mountain in the world, provides an
inspiring backdrop for the Goechala Trek. Until the discovery of the
height of Mt Everest in the 19th century, Kangchenjunga was considered
to be the highest mountain in the world. Viewing its huge flanks rising
high above the foothills, it is not hard to understand why, while the

Stok Kangri trekking expedition

Stok Kangri is the most famous peak in Leh Ladakh as it's been declared as a trekking peak by IMF (Indian Mountaineering Foundation) I submitted this peak last year with Renok Adventures. I am sharing my incredible experience of trekking in himalayas.

The plan was this first go to Manali and then see how to reach Leh, So I booked myself in a Volvo bus of HRTC (Book online). Reached Manali and stayed in Old Manali in Geeta Cottage which is less crowded then Manali. Now I went to the taxi union's office and booked a taxi for four of us for 20K. Next morning we started early to Leh with a night stop at Sarchu. We reached Leh and explore Leh and surroundings...this was important for acclimatization.

Pictures speak more than words so here are the pictures from the Journey

Climbing Mt Everest ? Now you have to bring back the garbage

NEW DELHI — Hoping to clean a trash-strewn pathway to the world’s highest peak, Nepal’s tourism authority declared Monday that those climbing Mount Everest must return from the trip with an extra 18 pounds of garbage.

The rule is the government’s first concerted effort to eliminate an estimated 50 tons of trash that has been left on Mount Everest by climbers over the past six decades. The waste includes empty oxygen bottles, torn tents, discarded food containers and the bodies of climbers who died on the mountain.

Nepal’s government hopes the new rule will result in the collection of nearly eight tons of waste this year alone.

Mountaineering associations and former climbers have become increasingly concerned about the growing refuse on Mount Everest that does not degrade because of the frigid temperature. In 2010, a special team of climbers carried more than two tons of trash down from elevations exceeding 24,000 feet. And last year, concerned climbers collectively carried down four tons of trash.

But hundreds of climbers ascend Mount Everest annually. Most are led by guides and have little experience, so they discard trash along the way to save the energy they need to reach the summit or return to base camp alive. Their trash continues to increase, so much so that some climbers have termed Mount Everest the world’s highest garbage dump.

“From now on, a climber is required to bring down eight kilograms of waste, and that excludes their own empty oxygen bottles and human dung,” said Madhusudhan Burlakoti, joint secretary of Nepal’s tourism ministry.

Climbers who fail to appear at base camp with the required additional garbage will face stiff penalties that could include a ban on future ascents, Mr. Burlakoti said.

“We will not compromise on it,” Mr. Burlakoti said. “Defaulters will face serious legal action.”

Trekking in Jaipur

Trekking in Jaipur Go fish

Jaipur too is surrounded by hills and as a trekking aficionado I though of trekking to one of the hills cook food and return. So I called few of friends and children and made a plan to trek a hill near malviya nagar with red beacon light on top of it.

All set packed my backpack with all the supplies for the maiden Jaipur trek raw chicken as our chef was very gung ho about it and all sort of spices. Four of us started the trek near the Jaipur shooting range. It was raining and we all were excited to see the Jeep Safari that to in Rajasthan till now we have seen waterfall in my Himalayan Trek - Valley of Flowers. This was wonderful. Initially we didn't face any difficulty as we were trekking on the trails made by shephers and their cattle but after sometime it became difficult because all the trees were full of thorns. We kept walking and finally we reached our destination the Red Beacon light.
Anil & Rajesh resting after the so called hardest trek for them

Our Stove which failed and we cook our chicken on makeshift chulha
My multifuel stove which ditched us when we required it most ...and then we went in to the jungle to collect wood and we were afraid that we will not get good dry wood but we were lucky we got lot of them.

Our Chef - Anil and our Chulha
Cooking and chatting It was no less then any of the best cooking shows and on top of that it was a lesson learnt in how to cook without a stove.

Yummmmmm It was fun to cook there
